FAQs
- How current is the information at this site?
The information is updated daily and available for view the next business
day after the Court Clerks have completed their work for the day.
- Why are some cases (i.e. Providian Credit Card) case slow to download?
Since the Providian Credit Card Case is a big case, querying real time information
from the large database will be slow.
- When I use the "Case Number Query" or "Name Search Query"
links, nothing happens - the site never loads. How do I access a case?
We have changed the viewer and changed the way documents are being viewed.
You will need to download the necessary plug-in. The NEW plug-in will
work with Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 or later. Please read the
Site Prerequisites and try again.
- Is there a way to lookup family law, small claim or criminal cases?
Unfortunately, family law, small claim and criminal cases are not available
on the web site
- Is there a way to search the case by the lawyers' name?
Unfortunately, you are unable to search the case by lawyers' name on this
web site .
- How do we print the scanned documents?
You can print the scanned documents from the image viewer screen. There is
a print ICON on the image viewer screen and you can print one page at a time.
(Note: Please do not print using the print icon from the web browser, it
will not work).
- When I view scanned documents, I am able to view the 'Document Scanning
Lead Sheet' or the cover sheet only. How do I view the entire document?
In order to view the entire document, you will need to click on the subsequent
pages. In your image viewer screen you just opened up, you will find
a 'directional button'
next to the 'zoom button'
.
If you click on the 'next button'
you will be viewing the entire document one page at a time in ascending order
and if you click on the 'back button'
you will be viewing the entire document one page at a time in descending order.
If you click on the 'end button'
you will be viewing the last page of document which will also indicate
total pages of the entire document. If you click on the 'beginning
button'
you will be viewing the first page of the document.
- Why can't I access case information when I use Netscape? I currently
have Netscape 4.7 installed and should be able to get the information?
Because this site has special internal links and features, it will only work
with Microsoft Explorer 5 or later. You will also need to download the necessary
plug-in. The NEW plug-in will work with Microsoft Internet Explorer
5 or later. Please read the
Site Prerequisites and try again.
- Are scanned documents available for view the same day they are scanned?
Documents are available for view the day after the court clerks have scanned
the documents into the system.
- I keep getting the error message about server not found. I have not been
able to access the web site since this morning?
Please contact us at courtwebadmin@sftc.org
.
- I am a MAC user and am having problems with your
site, what can I do?
We apologize for any inconvenience you are having and realize that problems
exist with our site and Mac's. Our developers are currently working on fixes
to document retrieval and compatibility issues with a number of browsers.
When our new site is launched in early 2008, MAC users should have more reliable
service. In the meantime, thank you for your patience.
- I use Linux, do I need to install the plugin?
It does not appear that you need to install our plugin if using Linux. Currently,
people using Linux have not had problems viewing court documents. However,
please be aware that Linux has optional options that not all users
install and therefore some Linux users MAY need our plugin.
